Turtle Creek Fire Brigade is a non-profit volunteer organization. Established in 2009.

The Turtle Creek Volunteer Fire Brigade, is small group of men and women dedicated to protecting our community. We rely solely on donations from our community for our operations. Our small rural community encompasses about 100 people. The average response for other Emergency Services to reach us is about 40 minutes. We feel that our role is to protect our community from large wild fires by putting them out while they are small!

ill_1  Protection is our first goal; our second goal is preparedness. We work with our community to help them understand what it takes to make their property safer in the event of a fire. We have provided education through workshops and media so our community can help itself stay safe. Prevention is the best tool a firefighter has. Our crew of firefighters constantly monitor our environment to understand where risk is. We are in contact with other firefighting teams outside our community in order to create a larger safety area for all.

<---------The area under our protection is circled on the map located in the left hand column.

We are located approx. 10 miles east of Comptche Ca. on Orr Springs/ Comptche Ukiah Road where two rivers meet, Daughtery Creek and the South Fork of Big River. The Pomo Natives called this arena "Turtle Creek". We as a community felt it was fitting, so we adopted the name into our organization and Melissa Fischbach created our logo to reflect it.
